The best plans II

I was so upset @ myself over my Rite Aid fiasco.  Somehow I ended up spending over $16 on makeup (that I rarely wear) and laundry detergent.  I was literally sick and was planning on returning most of it...when I got an email from Rite Aid...

I am getting $14 back in SCR for the makeup and the laundry detergent.  PLUS I qualified for a $5 Holiday Savings gift card!  So basically I am MAKING money on this deal- a whopping $2.06 but for 9 eye shadows (43.65 worth) and 2 Purex 3 in 1 (15.98) I am pleased.   Those eye shadows will make cute stocking stuffers for my oldest and we go through A LOT of laundry detergent!

So what I thought was a bust turned into a blessing!  PLUS I went yesterday and got a prescription transferred over there, paid $12 for it and got a $25 gift card!  YAY.

Bad trip ...turned out okay

I am SUCH a compulsive planner it is rare that I mess up a deal- but I had a DOOZY today!

I went to Rite Aid to get 4 L'oreal makeups and 2 Purex 3 in 1.  My total SHOULD have been .91 (plus tax) and got $5 in Up+ and $1 in SCR

Somehow I got completely messed up because the eye shadows rang up B1G1 50% off.  So my $5 up didn't want to print and  the cashier didn't want to take both $5 off coupons because it said "1 Per purchase".  I said I'm buying 4!  He didn't care...sigh

Anyway my first total came out to $3 and change....They couldn't figure out what was going on...so they voided it off and rerang.  It STILL came to over $3.....so I just took it.  Then I didn't get my UP+ so I bought 6 more (thinking I could return the others later) and my UP+ printed out but it was THEN that we realize that the first total was just a few cents short of $15 and therefore the reason for no UPS (both the cashier and manager kept looking @ the after tax total instead of pre-tax).

So in the end I ended up paying over $17!!!!  instead of my 91 cents.  BUT I get a $1 SCR for EACH (no limit) And a $1 SCR for the purex so my final totals will be:

$17 paid
-$9 SCR for L'oreal items
-$1 SCR for 2 Purex 3-in-1s
-$5 UP
-TOTAL of $15 in money back
=$2 total paid out

So not so bad: over $64 worth of items for $2.....but I was SO flustered

SO MAJOR TIP HERE::: If something doesn't work out the way you want @ the cash register- just tell them that something isn't right and can you just not get the items right now.  Go to your car and think or go home and go again later or another day.  I was SO flustered and I should have done just that.  Instead I ended up with ALOT more out of pocket then I expected.  It worked out well this time- but not always.

P.s.  The manager AND cashier were awesome dealing with my neurotic couponing that I am sending Rite Aid an email telling them how awesome they were!

CVS and Walgreens

Back from CVS and Walgreens (My RiteAid isn't open yet)

CVS:

 4 Zhu Zhu Pets
1 Itch Relief
1 Motrin PM

Total after ECB and coupons: $1.47
Got $8 in ECB back!!!!!!
I used a CVS gift card (they offered a deal where you buy $25 worth and get $5 more free!)
Considering each Zhu Zhu pet is $9.98 I got a steal!  Even without the ECB!

Walgreens:
8 Ragu Pasta Sauces
4 Barilla Pastas
1 Hellmanns mayo
2 Hershey Chocolate Bars
2 Reach Flosses
1 Glide Floss
2 Hallmark Cards
2 Chex Mix

Total out of Pocket: $11.36
Total savings: $47.45
Got back: $10 in Jingle Cash
or about 50 cents an item!  WOW.  (not including the JIngle Cash- add that in and it is 7 cents an item!!!)

Stay tuned for my Rite Aid deals!!
