*GASP*
I am amazing myself this week- no grocery shopping for me! THAT is why I love stockpiling! If we want pasta, we have pasta in the pantry. If we want stew, we have all the makings. Fried chicken- all ingredients! So, I've decided to take a week off!
Besides a quick replacement of bread and milk and possibly eggs that is all the grocery shopping I plan on doing. NOW I say that but Harris Teeter is advertising some sort of Face Book e-vic deal to be disclosed on Friday. Depending on what that is, will determine if I go there or not. BUT I would LOVE to see what deals you got this week. Post a picture or comment!

Lowes Foods vs. Harris Teeter
Here is a price comparison for some major staples (at least in my house) for Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods. The prices are based on the LF to go and HT express lane prices for my local stores. I was amazed at how BIG the difference in some of the prices were (MANY of these items are regular prices) but at the end it evened out to a difference of only $3!!
THIS is why I stockpile :) The prices for the meat is per lb (NOTE: the HT shrimp will cost you a MINIMUM of $50! You have to buy two bags at nearly $28 a piece to get the others free!), the prices for paper products are per roll (most of these are 8-12 roll packages). I just wanted you to get a feel for what the cost comparison between the two stores is.
I would look over the list and see which store has more highlighted items that I need/want to buy. THEN I would go to that store's matchups and see how much I can save!

1 Sunkist drink (this was $1.69 + tax worth of my total- again due to a text from my husband who is apparently dying of thirst even though we JUST left the house!)

2 M&Ms (due to pleading from my children)
Loaf of Bread
Smukers Jelly
Quilted Northern TP (purchased @ WAY too high of a cost because I thought we were out. UNTIL I got home to put these away and found about 12 rolls had fallen off the shelf! So, now we are good for a while)
2 Dove Hair
1 Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil
Total Value: $45.35
OOP: $3.90 (The cost of the jelly and M&Ms which were NOT part of my trip + tax for a OOP of 5.88)
Total Savings: 91.4%
Rewards Back: 10% off shopping pass! $6 UP+
(several of these items were needed and there are no good deals and haven't been for a while- such as the jelly (required for my daughter's lunches) and the bread. We go though 3 or 4 loaves a week! My freezer is FULL of veggies and meats so no room for bread right now. OH and did you notice the cute happy tablecloth? Target had their Valentine's Day items 75% in Kernersville. I stocked up on little treats for my kids (which will last past Easter!) and some decorative items that can be used year round! With 3 little ones- vinyl tablecloths are AMAZING table savers!
