May 21st Coupon Workshop Scheduled!

If you are local to the Triad, NC area Join me @ my first coupon workshop on May 21, 2011  at 3pm.

Here are the details:

10 Attendee Maximum - Small groups work best for the attendees.  This way we can tailor the session to YOUR interests (Why listen to 45 minutes about Publix when we don't even HAVE a Publix around here?)
The Focus will be on getting into couponing- We will cover the 3 local major chains (Food Lion, Lowes Foods & Harris Teeter).

Note - Additional classes will be offered in the future for drug store shopping (My personal favorite!!) and possibly other shopping experiences based on the need.

The cost is $10 per person.  Pre-payment is required

What you will get from this workshop:

  • 2 hours of personalized workshop
  • Your own copy of the "Moola Saving Mom Coupon Helper" spreadsheet emailed to you after you attend the class.  This is a formatted spreadsheet to designed to track your grocery lists & for you to enter your coupons prior to your trip.  It does ALL the math and totals your trip!!!  It even doubles, triples or super doubles them for you!
  • List of major websites and newsletters that we suggest you subscribe to for great deals and coupons!
  • After the session, if you wish to stay we will have a coupon swap!  Bring all the coupons you will not use and we'll trade them for ones you will!
Send an email to MoolaSavingMom@Yahoo.com with the following info if you like to attend.

-Your name
-Your telephone number
-The email address you want the prepayment request to be sent to.

You will receive an "invoice" from Pay Pal for your registration.  Please respond as soon as possible, with only 10 openings, they should fill fast.

Once 10 pre-pays have been received I will announce that the class is full, and then announce the next workshop date.

My Lowes Foods Trip

I wanted to share my trip.  First this is what I deal with when I go to the store:

The two dark headed ones are mine the other is a friend's.

I got: (4) bags of Krunchers chips (3.79 regular price) used the in ad coupon and a .75 each coupon
(1) Cheerios Cinnamon
(5) bags of Kraft Cheese (used the $1 Touch of Philly Coupons I found!)
2 pillsbury crescent
2 pillsbuyr cinnamon rolls

Paid 9.69
Total Value: 45.76
Total Savings: 79%

My first Harris Teeter Super Doubles Trip

Here is how I did:

Total Value: 57.63
Total Saved: $53.90
Total OOP: $3.73 (.88 was tax)
Total Savings: 94%

I got:
(4) Smart Balance milk (Use (3) $1.50 and (1) $2 coupon)
(2) Mission Rounds ($2.99 used (1) $1.50/2 coupon)
7th generation soap (1.99 used $1 coupon)
(1) Transocean $2 used (1) $1 coupon
(2) Coke 2 liters used (1) $1 wyb 2 2-liters and $4 worth of frozen food
4 minute steamers used (4) $1 coupons
3 steamfresh $3 used (1) $1/3 coupon
2 reach floss used (2) $1 coupons
(2) skinny cow 1.67 each used (2) $1 printables (no longer available sorry)
(1) lysol wipes used 1 $1.50 coupon (no longer available sorry)'

BUT I wanted to share 1 thing: many products offer "peelies" that are placed directly onto the product.  These coupons are meant to be used on the purchase of THAT product. This is what I found on the minute steamers
Someone STOLE all the peelies off most of the packages in the freezer!! Now here is the worst part!  The coupons were EXPIRED (expired 3/31/11- that past right?  LOL). So they used stolen, expired coupons.  If you needed the coupons why not just use the ones ON that package for THAT package?  Okay, vent over.  But whomever that(those) person(people) was/were they just stole from Harris Teeter because HT will most likely NOT get reimbursed for those coupons.  So, for each frauduatntly used coupon HT lost $2!!

Reminders!

Here is the breakdown (as I understand it) for Harris Teeter Super Doubles.  HERE is the policy

  • There is a limit of (20) coupons per day per Vic card per Household that will be doubled.  Any amount over that will be redeemed at face value.
  • For Super Doubles, coupons written for $1.98 and less will be doubled up to a max of $3.96
    • $1=$2 $1.50=$3.00 etc.
  • Coupons will NOT give overage
    • A $1.50 coupon for a $2.50 product will only deduct $2.50 (NOT the actual $3 "double-age"
  •  For BOGO (or B1G1) deals you can use (1) coupon per "set" This gets complicated:
    • If you buy (1) of the (2) items you pay 50% of the regular price and use (1) coupon for $/1 item.
    • If you buy (2) of the (2) items you pay 50% of the regular price times (2) (or 100% of the regular retail of just 1 of the items) and you can use (1) coupon for $/1 item
    • If you buy (2) of the (2) items, you pay 50% of the regular price times (2) (or 100% of the regular retail of just 1 of the items) and you will probably be required to buy (3) of the items if you try to use a $/2 items coupon (CRAZY I know!)
    • Your best bet is to just buy (1) of the B1G1 offers and use (1) coupon.  If you have additional coupons, buy them another day this week coming up
  • If the coupon starts with a "5" it will double, if it starts with a '9" it will not.
  • According to policy, if it says "Do Not Double" it "should not" be doubled.  Some stores do, some don't.
  • They accept competitor manufacturer coupons (it depends on your store if they accept drug stores as competitors).  They DO NOT accept internet competitor coupons :(
  • They accept (3) like coupons for doubling per day/ (2) "like" internet coupons per day
  • No "free" or even "BOGO free" coupons will be accepted if they are internet printed
  • evic coupons (digital coupons) can be combined with paper coupons BUT Harris Teeter direct mailed coupons CANNOT be combined with other paper coupons
I hope that this helps!  REMEMBER: IF your order/coupons do not work out the way you want it to/planned on it working then you can VOID the order or the item or take a minute to recalculate.  Good luck and be sure to come back and let us know how it went!
