Harris Teeter changes Coupon Policy

Harris Teeter has changed their coupon policy.  Here is the link to the new policy.

Here are the highlights:

-(I think that they were already doing this) BUT sales tax is paid on the price of the FULL RETAIL amount - so I wonder if that means the "regular" (i.e. overpriced) amount or the sale price.
-"like items" now mean all flavors (my HT always allowed different flavors to be a "different product")
-And we've already been seeing this but now it is the policy: "Coupons that state “do not double” should not be doubled or tripled."

And possibly the WORST? "eVIC coupons can be accepted along with paper coupons, however will not be doubled."  So if you load a coupon but want to use a regular coupon that will be doubled- too bad- you only get face value.  I am waiting on confirmation from HT as to which won't be doubled- evic or regular.  If it is the regular coupon I am not happy.

And for me this is the kicker: "Harris Teeter reserves the right to limit quantities in coupon usage, as well as products and to amend our policies as we deem appropriate."

This sounds like they will be changing the rules as time goes on- so stay tuned to Moola Saving Mom to see what else they have up their sleeves!

  1. My daughter and I had problems at HT on Tuesday. No internet B1G1 and then the one I really don't understand: $1 off manufacture coupon for Mio. Then I had a HT coupon for one free 24 pk. HT water with purchase of Mio. They told me I had to purchase 2 of the Mio. So I asked them to remove them. Due to all the confusion they were making over it (cashier, store mgr. and CS mgr. all telling me I was wrong)I was still charged $3.99 for the Mio with no coupon used nor a free water! But didn't notice until I got home!
Anyway, seriously doubting my return at the moment.

  2. Just went to HT and all of my coupons doubled except for one 50c. I'm not sure if was the one that had an eVic coupon also or one that said Do Not Double (I had one of both). I do know that I had an eVic coupon to get Go-gurt BOGO and a 75c manufacture's coupon and that one did double. They also took all of my coupons where I only bought one BOGO item. My cashier was very nice, no issues whatsoever. This was at the Cloverdale store. @Lori, I used the $1 Mio coupon and the free water coupon at the HT in Kernersville over the weekend and had no problems. They did have to get a manager's approval to take the water off, but it was done without question.

  3. That store is my favorite! I try not to knowingly break policy- which is why I am trying to get clarification from them on the e-vic coupon deal and complaining about the do not double issue. But I am glad you got the deals you did!
