Rite Aid Changes Policy......not so good news (for them OR us!)

Companies have been changing their coupon policies recently...some for the better (think Harris Teeter changing their B1G1 rules) and some for the worst (Rite Aid).

Here are the basic changes:

The good (sort of): They will only accept 4 identical coupons .  This is good because no one can come clear out the store in one fell swoop.

The bad: The bad news is if you want 5 you can't get it AND they added that it is at the managers discretion.  So, be prepared to have your purchases limited.

The Ugly: On B1G1 sales, you can no longer use a B1G1 coupon.  Now, this is not a HUGE deal but it is bad.  Companies have been recently putting out a LOT more B1G1 coupons and I had been using them at Rite Aid (because then you get both free).  So, from now on keep those B1G1 coupons for CVS or Walgreens!

the REALLY ugly: The policy states that ONE coupon can be used on the item being purchased in a B1G1 promotion.  I am reading this to mean the "free" (which we all know is really 50% off) cannot be used with a coupon.  Crossing my fingers that they just mean that you can't use (2) b1G1 coupons on 2 items...but we will see..

HERE is the revised policy.  What do you think?  be sure to let Rite Aid know about what you think- their Facebook page is FULL of other coupon users expressing their disappointment!

  2. They are going to keep on until it's just not worth bothering with coupons! I'm so frustrated with Harris Teeter and now I see Rite Aid will be next! I agree, STUPID SHOW! "That" show is only good for ONE thing, to show just how greedy some folks can be!!

  3. Now question....if you buy 3 and use a buy1g1 free coupon on a b1g1 free sale. Would you be paying for 1 and getting 2 free? That's not so bad....

  4. Sorry let me revise that.....if you buy 4 on a b1g1 free sale and use 1 b1g1 free coupon....wouldn't you still get 3 free paying for 1? That sounds a little better.

  5. Yes, IF they will allow us to do that- but considering that was the pull of drug stores was their B1g1 sales (esp. for me) since they are SO overpriced!

  6. With people stocking up their houses like stores and clearing shelves the stores were bound to change the policy....blame the shelf hogs.

  7. Question about the B1G1....when I was at Harris Teeter last week during triples I had a .75 off of smart balance popcorn. They were B1G1 in the store. I realize that really you are getting both 50% off. She told me I could only use 1 coupon b.c I was already getting one free.

    Was she correct?

  8. Re: HT B1G1. She was wrong. Beginning last week, HT changed their policy and allowed (2) coupons on BOGO. They USED to only allow 1.
